Life Changing Mentorship
Shakan Global Mission Inc (USA Based) is working in partnership with Shakan Mission Uganda LTD (Uganda Based) to nurture Christ-centered global partnerships that foster transformation and sustainability for families in Uganda through economic empowerment, integrated health, agriculture, and access to education.
God continues to touch lives through the Child and Community Sponsorship Program.
CHILDREN’s MENTORING PROGRAM
Learning and growing continued during the Holiday Break for the 31 students sponsored and their parents/guardians.
Shakan launched its first mentorship program on May 13-14 which included:
WORKSHOPS on CHANGING DESTINIES IN CHRIST
AGE APPROPRIATE BIBLES DISTRIBUTED TO EACH CHILD
LIVELY WORSHIP
SANITARY PADS CHANGE DESTINIES FOR GIRLS
Many girls in the community are not able to afford sanitary pads and miss school several days per month.
(banana peel or other unsanitary methods are used)
Since Shakan has been distributing pads to Kivubuka School in February 2023, the headmistress beamed when reporting the follow impact for these girls:
- Improved Academic Performance
- Improved Attendance
- Increase in girl enrollment
LETTERS FROM SPONSORS CHANGE LIVES
A simple letter and stickers make a huge impact on the life of a child.
Jemimah shed tears of joy after opening her envelope. She was overwhelmed by the birthday card, letter and all the stickers she received from someone across the world who she never met.
